  • Job Summary

    The Patient Access Training Specialist supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by providing training to the Patient Access (Admitting) staff on department processes, procedures and patient registration systems.

    Job Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School graduate or GED
    • Three years of experience in business processes; hospital experience preferred
    • One year of leadership/supervisory experience
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the Revenue Cycle including, but not limited to, pre-registration, admitting, insurance verification, insurance billing, and data collection
    • Ability to create, implement and deliver required training material
    • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
    • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
    • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Proficiency with registration computer applications; knowledge of registration system maintenance preferred

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Associate’s degree in business or related field
    • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) Certification
    • Cerner and Med Assets experience
    • Experience in training and staff development activities
