  • Job Summary

    The Director of Patient Financial Services supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by overseeing the management of the hospital business office, including hospital billing, collections, and accounts receivables, as well as customer service and cash posting for hospital and physician rendered services. Provides leadership and direction, mentoring and developing staff to achieve operational excellence.

    Job Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, business, accounting, finance or other related field and five years of management level experience in hospital revenue cycle with expertise in billing and collections. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
    • Five years of progressive leadership experience within the healthcare environment including coordinating and assigning work, managing performance, mentoring, training and developing staff
    • Experience and knowledge working with a Medicare MAC and Carrier
    • Excellent knowledge of Patient Financial Services and Patient Access/Scheduling terminology
    • Demonstrated success in the ability to effectively manage change in a constantly evolving healthcare environment
    • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
    • Excellent multi-tasking, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
    • Thorough knowledge of PC based applications with intermediate to expert level experience in MS Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems, including the use of Excel Add-Ins
    • Working knowledge of ad hoc reporting

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CHFP or equivalent certification
    • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
