Job Summary

The Director of Biomedical Engineering supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by providing oversight to the YRMC clinical equipment management program and leadership and direction to the Biomedical Engineering staff in support of the organization’s clinical, financial and strategic objectives. Utilizes medical technology, data and informatics methods and techniques to optimize healthcare delivery.

Job Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in IT networking and biomedical device integration

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Bio-Medical/Electronics Technology or related field and five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of medical devices and equipment in a hospital setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Three years of management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (A.A.M.I.) certification
  • Ability to interpret schematics, specification drawings, wiring diagrams and blueprints
  • Knowledge of pertinent technical practices and troubleshooting strategies for medical equipment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
